Unfoldment: go beyond self-improvement
There are two paradigms for transformation: self-improvement and unfoldment.
Self-improvement tells us that we need to change, fix problems, try harder, and become our "best selves" to find happiness. While well-intentioned, this approach often leaves you feeling like you're never quite enough.
Unfoldment starts from the premise that you are already whole and complete. Through self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-love, unhelpful patterns naturally soften and release. This process leads to spontaneous growth and transformation.

Hello! I’m Marcel. I’m an Aletheia coach specialising in personal growth, wisdom cultivation, and spiritual development.
My greatest passion over the last two decades has been to study and practice various approaches to human unfoldment, especially meditation.

Practical details

Ideally, I suggest working together for at least six months, typically meeting every other week. I recommend meeting every week for the first month to build momentum.

I offer sessions online or in person at the Freshwater Wellness Centre in the Northern Beaches area of Sydney.

I offer coaching by subscription. Your plan can include one or two sessions each fortnight. The price for online sessions is on a sliding scale as follows:
Low income - AU$ 75 per session
Moderate income - AU$ 100 per session
High income - AU$ 125 per session
A 10% discount is available for a package of twelve sessions, paid in advance.

I offer a developmental style of coaching that is distinct from what many people think life coaching is about. Here's how:
Unfoldment, not self-improvement: Coaching is typically based on self-improvement. My approach is based on self-unfoldment, which emphasises presence and innate wholeness as catalysts for spontaneous growth and transformation.
Inner focus: Life coaching often emphasises goal-setting, action plans, problem-solving, and achieving success in life. My approach focuses on inner work to help you recognise and embody your innate wisdom, resourcefulness, and creativity.
Cultivating presence instead of trying too hard: Life coaching often relies on willpower, discipline, and external motivation to take action. Unfoldment emphasises deeper contact with yourself and to work with what is arising in the moment.

Therapy and coaching can both support personal growth, but their scope and focus differ significantly.
Therapy is essential if you might be facing a mental health condition (e.g., anxiety or depression), struggle with an addiction, or feel significantly burdened by past experiences. Directly addressing mental health challenges is outside the scope of coaching.
Coaching can be a great option if your primary goal is to navigate life more effectively, develop emotional intelligence, uncover deeper meaning and purpose, or cultivate happiness. While therapy can also facilitate these goals, coaching specialises in human unfoldment and flourishing.
In some cases, a combination of therapy and coaching can be beneficial. While coaching isn't a substitute for mental health treatment, it can complement one’s healing journey.
