Mindfulness Meditation
Mindfulness guidance and coaching Sydney & online. Guided by Shinzen Young's Unified Mindfulness system, a flexible approach for cultivating clarity and presence.
Mindfulness: A Different Relationship with Experience
Mindfulness invites you into a new relationship with experience—one where you're fully present rather than caught in thought, able to meet whatever arises with wisdom rather than reactivity, and connected to a natural clarity that's already here.
Perhaps you've sensed that there's a way of being more awake to your life. Maybe you've tried meditation apps or attended classes, but feel called to explore further to deepen understanding, receive personalized guidance, or integrate practice into the full complexity of being human.
This is where our work begins: meeting you exactly where you are and supporting the unfolding of mindfulness as a living capacity, not just a technique to master.
Mindfulness is part of my broader approach to meditation. Some clients focus on developing mindfulness as part of their meditation journey, while others engage in mindfulness-based coaching, where awareness skills support personal goals. Continue below to explore mindfulness in more depth.
A Systematic Approach to Mindfulness
This work is grounded in the Unified Mindfulness (UM) system, one of the most flexible and comprehensive approaches to mindfulness training available today.
UM offers precise, systematic methods for developing three fundamental capacities that transform how you engage with life:
Concentration: The ability to focus your attention where you choose, rather than being pulled by every distraction or worry.
Sensory Clarity: Learning to track and explore experience in real-time, discovering the richness and subtlety of each moment.
Equanimity: The capacity to allow experience without interference, meeting both pleasure and discomfort with balance.
Together, these skills enable you to work more skillfully with stress, emotions, relationships, and the inherent complexity of being human. As your practice deepens, you may discover that mindfulness opens doorways to insight, presence, and ways of being that feel more alive and true.
What makes the UM system unique is its clarity and adaptability. It provides structured techniques suitable for complete beginners while accommodating the deepest depths of meditation practice. Whether you're just starting or have years of experience, the framework scales to meet you exactly where you are.
How Mindfulness Coaching Works
Our work together is tailored to your life, your questions, and your goals. Sessions typically include:
Exploring what's alive in your current experience
Choosing and learning specific mindfulness techniques suited to your needs
Systematically developing mindfulness skills
Working with challenges and opportunities arise in practice
Bridging formal practice into daily life—work, relationships, creativity
Supporting the integration of mindfulness as a life skill
The UM system provides clear maps and precise techniques, making it especially valuable for those who appreciate structure and systematic development. At the same time, the work remains responsive to what's unfolding in your practice and life.
